Message from the Principal

It is a great privilege to welcome you to GEMS Founders School – Al Mizhar.

I am incredibly proud to serve as Principal of GFM and to lead such a warm, ambitious and diverse school community. At the heart of our school is a simple but important commitment: to provide the highest possible standard of education and care for every child. Our dedicated and skilled staff work tirelessly to ensure that every student feels known, valued, supported and challenged to achieve their very best.

Our vision is brought to life through three core pillars: helping each other to Grow, helping each other to Flourish, and cultivating an ethos of Mindfulness. Together, these pillars form #TheGFMWay. They reflect who we are as a school community and shape the culture we live, embody and continually nurture.

Academic excellence is central to who we are, but our ambition extends far beyond examination results. We want our students to become confident, curious and resilient young people who demonstrate kindness and respect, take responsibility for their learning and choices, and develop the character, knowledge and skills to contribute positively to the world around them.

We believe an excellent education should be broad and rich, giving students opportunities to discover their interests, develop their talents and prepare for their futures. As a school in Dubai, we are also proud to develop our students’ appreciation of the culture, values and heritage of the UAE and the opportunities that come from growing up in one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse cities.

We want GFM to be a school where students are proud to belong and understand that with opportunity comes responsibility: for their learning, for one another and for their community. I  firmly believe that the strongest schools are built through genuine partnership with families. Your support, feedback and engagement are fundamental to our students’ success, and we are committed to listening, communicating openly and working alongside you throughout your child’s journey at GFM.

This Parent Handbook sets out the key information, expectations and routines that support that partnership, and I encourage you to refer to it throughout the year.
